Ready for Manufacturing: Seurat Announces Plans to Grow Team 10x by 2025

This post is authored by CEO and Co-Founder of Seurat, James DeMuth

The Biden Administration recently announced millions in funding to expand our clean manufacturing workforce, with the president himself citing how 3D printing reduces part lead times by 90%, slashes material costs by 90%, and cuts energy use by 50%. With 3D printing (also known as additive manufacturing), we can usher in a new, clean era of manufacturing at home – and the demand has never been higher.

I’m proud that Seurat Technologies is at the forefront of reimagining local manufacturing driven by renewable energy. Since our founding, Seurat has been on a steadfast mission to build a scalable solution that fundamentally changes how products are made. However, we can’t advance our vision of transforming manufacturing for people and our planet without attracting new talent. That’s why I’m excited to share that Seurat has doubled our employee headcount year-over-year, and we plan to grow our team to 1,000 employees by 2025.

Strength in Diversity

As part of our growth, I’m proud that our team includes people of diverse backgrounds, female leaders, 3D printing veterans, and world-class inventors finding solutions for our biggest challenges. We’ve worked hard to make Seurat into a workplace that is diverse, equitable and inclusive for everyone. I am very proud that nearly one-quarter of our employees are female. To strengthen unity, the women have created a grassroots group called Sisters of Seurat (S.O.S) which is an internal network that offers mentorship and friendship to each other. Let them tell you about what S.O.S means to them:

We understand the quality of our team is even more important than numbers. As we scale, Seurat is ensuring we grow with great minds and even greater teammates. At Seurat, 19% of our employees have PhDs, including Chief Scientist Andy Bayramian.

As we continue to grow our team, we will continue amplifying underrepresented voices in STEM. One of those voices is women in engineering. Dr. April Cooke is one of the few female Ph.Ds in the 3D printing industry. April is a Principal Process Engineer and we’re honored to highlight her story.

Nearly 25% of our company is composed of BIPOC employees, and we also have several employees who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. While these diversity numbers are a start, they are certainly not the ceiling. I am committed to growing a team that reflects the diverse communities we are working to build a better world for.

Strategic New Hires Signal Our Readiness to Commercialize

In the last year, Seurat has made several strategic hires as we ramp up towards commercial readiness. We’ve brought on a CFO, director of market development, and head of marketing, among other core roles.

  • Anthony Di Paola is Seurat’s chief financial officer. With 30+ years of executive leadership in industrial and consumer products sectors, Di Paola brings experience and trust to help Seurat establish itself as a heavyweight competitor.

  • John Rushton serves as director of market development. Rushton leads Seurat’s commercial program and partners with customers to scale their adoption of our technology. Prior to Seurat, Rushton led commercial programs at Carpenter Additive.

  • Joyce Yeung is our head of marketing. Yeung is a marketing veteran within the 3D printing industry and is focused on evangelizing Seurat’s mission. Prior to Seurat, Yeung led marketing at several other hardware startups.

By expanding our team with these and other new hires, we are ramping up our commercialization and fundraising efforts. Without each of their contributions, Seurat would not be in position to scale as quickly as we are.

Come Build the Future with Us

Seurat is building the next generation of manufacturing, green technology, and innovation. To successfully do this, we’re always looking to expand our team with the brightest minds.

That’s why we plan to expand our team ten-fold in the next three years with engineers, scientists, operations team members, and more. We can’t do it alone. If you’re up for the challenge of dunking your boss or have a furry friend to show off, please visit our Careers page.
